Pastor's Pen

"See how good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell in unity!" God has given us 125 years together with Him and each other. Today is a time of thanksgiving to Him for watching over us and protecting us from the Devil and from ourselves. It is a time of appreciation for the blessings we have as His children. Through the long years and changing members, our congregation has experienced His presence and mercies--always here and always new. What a blessing it is to look through the years behind and ahead at God's activities showing His watchful care for His children.

"If the Lord doesn't build a house, it's no use working so hard building it." We have been saved by His blood, by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As his children, all that we do, we do for and through Him. He has brought us today and stays with us as we approach the future. May He bring us to our next anniversary, looking back in joy at what He has done with us.

We cannot know the future since a church can only be what God makes it. As John the Baptizer said, "A man can only get what Heaven has given him." And "He must grow while I must become less." So whatever God sends us, it will be exciting to see Him support us! Now as we thank the Lord for the past we rest in Him for the future.

Joyfully and Prayerfully Yours in the Lord,

Arthur Bolstad, pastor

(Psalms 133:1; Psalms 127:1; John 3:27,30)
