Confirmation

Confirmation is the rite by which a baptized person renews his or her baptismal vow, publicly confesses his faith, and is received into communicant membership by the congregation (Luther's Small Catechism). Before the actual Confirmation can be completed the Confirmant is given Christian instruction from the Pastor of the Church. The beginning age for Confirmants can vary, usually beginning now later than the age of 12. Adults entering the Church are instructed through a separate Adult Confirmation program.

The programs cover the teaching of the Lutheran doctrine from Luther's Small Catechism and other various worship tools. Before the Confirmant is confirmed by the congregation he or she publicly questioned on the doctrine of faith. After sufficiently learning the doctrine the Confirmant publicly professes his or her faith during the Confirmation Ceremony.
